Complete and Total Exhaustion!

It has been a rough 2 weeks on this momma's body!  The lady that owns our house moved all of her stuff out last week, so I went back to TN on Thursday to start packing us up.  When I got to my house Thursday afternoon with my grandparents, we noticed one whole corner of our basement was flooded.  As luck would have it, it was the exact corner where all of my empty boxes were!!  We started bailing out the water like 3 crazy people in a sinking boat!  Come to find out, we had a pipe right outside the wall that wasn't sealed correctly and it gave way and started pouring close to 60,000 gallons of water into our foundation!  This river of water filled up the basement blocks then started pouring into the basement through a pencil sized hole.  It was a disaster.  Not at all what I expected to find when we walked downstairs!
Thank God for my Daddy and L.W.  They put on multiple layers of clothes and got outside in 19* weather to dig up the pipe and fix it.  Daddy looked like he was head first down in a well to rescue baby Jessica.  Ha!  It was absolutely horrible.  And wouldn't it figure that Eric was in Houston for a business conference.  He about died as I told him the details over the phone.  After several hours and attempts to fix the pipe, it finally held and we could breathe a sigh of relief.
The packing and moving continued as usual and Eric joined us late Saturday night to complete everything.  We drove back to KY on Monday and the movers arrived with everything Tuesday.  Eric's parents also came back to KY with us to help and bring things the movers couldn't take such as cleaners and, of course, ammo.  Ha!  Since then, we've been knee deep in boxes and bubble wrap.  I'm slowly getting things put away.  I worked on Aiden's room this morning and really enjoyed displaying toys we had when we were little.  On Aiden's changing dresser is Eric's G.I. Joe's right beside my Pooh Bears. Ha.  Needless to say, his room will be so special and a definite blend of his Daddy and me.

Busy Bees

Eric and I have been super busy with our house situation.  Our wonderful landlord has offered to move out all of her belongings and let us move our stuff up here from Tennessee.  As if that wasn't enough, she also said she would put in a fence for us to get Shelby and Dozer up here.  We are thrilled!  Finally we will be able to call this place home and have our little family all together.  I can't wait to get back in MY bed too!  God is just laughing at me for freaking out over everything.  I just needed to rest in His plans.  Just this past week I was the one crying about not having a room for Aiden.  It's funny how life turns out okay so quickly.

Spirited Art

Over Christmas break, Stephanie found this great place called Spirited Art in Knoxville where you follow along with the instructor but put your own personality into the art work.  We went to the class on monogramming to make art work for Aiden's room.  We had a blast!  Here is our progress and finished pieces.  Thanks "Auntie Steph" for such a great evening!

The 20 Week Baby Bump

I promised I would show the "bump" along the way- especially for my Aunt Denise in Wyoming.  Here it is, at the half way point!!

Aiden's Room

I have been mentally decorating Aiden's nursery for the past few weeks.  The color scheme has been determined; I like to think of it as sea glass colors.  I am now looking at bedding options.  This is too much fun!
Here are some of the colors I love:

I am loving the mix of blues, greens, and chocolate brown.

Here are the bedding options:
Land of Nod (Full Circle), my favorite so far.

Alli Taylor "Circle Time Blue"

Beautiful room!

Love these colors

Aqua Flashback - Modern Pea Pod

Love the shelf idea- and the colors too!!

DaVinci Jayden 4-in-1 Convertible Crib, definitely the bed I like.

So, as you can see, it's been a lot of fun browsing around.  Now we just need to find the perfect house to put this nursery in!  Hopefully our TN house will sell and we can do just that!!

The Joys of Christmas and Pregnancy

The past 2 weeks have revealed quite a few new aspects of being pregnant.  I started having Braxton Hicks contractions to get Aiden and me ready for the big day in May.  They don't hurt at all, it's just weird to be sitting there and your stomach muscles suddenly get rock hard.  I think about it as a little hug from my body to Aiden.  Another new experience has been swollen ankles- not exactly cute.  Ha!  The first time I saw this was after being on my feet all day and not drinking enough water.  I freaked out!  Mom simply said, "Welcome to pregnancy."  It's just another lovely reminder of all the changes that take place.

Needless to say, Eric and I got all kinds of fun baby stuff.  From onsies and bibs to books and pregnancy massages, it was indeed a baby-to-be Christmas.  Eric wanted to be the first to buy a box of diapers for us, so he wrapped up a box of newborn diapers and wipes from Aiden to me with the most precious Christmas card.  I cried of course!  Ha!

It was so good to have my family and friends so excited about our little bundle of love.  He will be totally surrounded by people who adore him and would do anything in the world for him.  That is the best feeling ever.

What Are Little Boys Made Of?

What are little boys made of?
Frogs and snails and puppy-dogs' tails,
And that's what little boys are made of.
